Firework Safety Warning

We've recently seen increased reports of illegal and misuse of fireworks by youths locally.

Fireworks are explosives and can cause serious injuries, fires and lasting damage if misused. 

Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak to their children about the dangers and ensure fireworks are only used safely and legally by responsible adults.

You must be 18 or over to buy category F2 & F3 (adult) Fireworks in the UK.

Category F4 Fireworks are NOT for sale to genral public and for professionals only.

Unless a year round license is held, fireworks can only be sold between:

15th October - 10th November

26th - 31st December

First Day of Chinese New Year & the 3 Days before.

The Day of Diwali & the 3 days before.

There only a handful of premises across the Rochdale Bourough that hold such a license.

If you see fireworks being sold outside of these dates and/ or used in a dangerous or anti-social manner, please report it.
